Bought this since it ships free, although it may cost less in other site, but shipping generally adds $15 to the final cost. It is a cast iron version with zinc coating. Washing is required since there is a lot of metal powder on the surface, used a pound of beef to make sure it is clean. It does a good job, 10 lbs of meat took less than 15 minutes. Cleaning is reasonable simple. we used to have an electric one, but the manual grinder is a lot better since it is easier to control the speed. If you only have a pound or so meat to grind, it is not worth the trouble. The home made ground pork and beef is so much leaner, you will never buy those from store again. Highly recommended regit
